Greetings from Punta Borinquen Lighthouse. Faro de Punta Borinquen aka lighthouse located in the old Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. It’s a very unique place. Firstly because it is closed to the public, here are the perks of being a military spouse, secondly it has quite a history behind it.

The lighthouse was built in 1889 by the Spanish government. It had a vital role in the history of Aguadilla. With the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914, it also played an important role on the way from Europe to Panama. The 1918 earthquake destroyed it and it was rebuilt in 1922. The light is an active aid to navigation and is a housing facility for the United States Coast Guard, and a cute location for me to go and show you 😛

It is situated on a beautiful cliff, surrounded by palm trees and beautiful green trees… and there is a swing! you know how I love them! I was instantly in love with the beautiful infinite blue horizon and nice cooling breeze. It is a special place.

To wyjątkowe miejsce.
