What to do in Vega Alta Puerto Rico

My favorite three things to do are going on a road trip to discover new places, going to the beach and food. Trip to Vega Alta had them all!

Vega Alta is located on the northern coast, near the towns of Morovis, Dorado and Vega Baja. This destination in Puerto Rico is known for the breathtaking Vega Alta Forest, Cerro Gordo beach and some great places to eat some delicious local food.

Cerro Gordo This is a favorite beach among locals, with families often making a full-day excursion out of visiting Cerro Gordo. What’s also cool is that there are a government-run parking lot and facilities including bathrooms and food and drink concessions. There is also a fun restaurant/bar overlooking the beach which has a cool vibe. Sol y Mar.

The beach has delicate white sand, lined with palms and other trees that provide shade, as well as gazebos, picnic tables, and showers. The water is a bright blue with gentle waves and a sandy bottom, making it a perfect bathing beach.

If you follow the road up the hill you’ll reach the campgrounds and eventually the mountain bike trails. This upper section of Cerro Gordo has spectacular views of craggy cliffs framed by the deep blue of the Atlantic.

El Batey the Recuerdos was a place I had wanted to visit for a while. Casual local dining experience yet very special. You buy food per pound or halves, there are no just little bits or portions. The service was very pleasant and nice and to food to die for.

This was a casual trip that made my soul and my belly happy

Moje ulubione trzy rzeczy to podróże w celu odkrycia nowych miejsc, pójście na plażę i jedzenie. Podróż do Vega Alta miała je wszystkie!

To miejsce w Puerto Rico słynie z zapierającego dech w piersiach Lasu Vega Alta, plaży Cerro Gordo i wspaniałych miejsc, w których można zjeść pyszne lokalne jedzenie.
