Waterfall paradise

I love waterfalls and I am always on a lookout for some hidden waterfalls in Puerto Rico. There are two fun waterfalls in Arecibo. Welcome to this Waterfall paradise. Perfect for a little adventure to cool off on your road trip.

These man-made waterfalls are located on the Río Tanama, in the Río Hondo and La Planta sectors of Arecibo. Originally built as part of a hydro-electric, but no longer used in the generation of electricity — now they are just pretty waterfalls.

Surprisingly,  it was really easy to get to. Usually, GPS has no idea where some of the “off the beaten path” attractions are. Also, the walk from where we parked was very short. First waterfall -Charco Hondo not only a source of cool water and fun pictures but also a focal point for locals to hang out, barbeque and swim around in the river. I couldn’t help myself to take a little dip in it and have some fun shots. My little waterfall paradise.

The second waterfall – La Planta is a bit of a walk mostly through the river that gets sometimes up to your chest! Adventurous and challenging when you have a backpack full of cameras and phones ( yikes! Thankfully my personal photographer knows how to handle situations like that)

A 15 minute half walk/ half swim through freezing water was so worth it! The views were spectacular! and the swim in the waterfall so refreshing and beautiful. I love adventures like that. That are challenging enough but not too dangerous and at the end so worth it. Puerto Rico, you are a great and beautiful adventure! Arecibo you are waterfall pardise.

Uwielbiam wodospady i zawsze szukam ukryte miejsca z jakimiś atrakcjami i pięknąprzyrodą w Puerto Rico.

Spacer pełen przygód i wyzwania, kiedy masz plecak z aparatem fotograficznym i telefonami ( Na szczęście mój osobisty fotograf wie, jak radzić sobie z takimi sytuacjami)

Puerto Rico, jesteś wspaniałą i piękną przygodą!
